Safeguarding Lead

Sarah Shorrock
I’m Sarah Shorrock, and I’m proud to be the newly appointed Safeguarding Lead at Ribble Valley Netball Club. I’ve worked in the Supported Housing and Charitable sector for over 10 years, holding a variety of roles—most recently as Assistant Director of Transformation. My background is rooted in supporting people, including young people leaving care, high-risk offenders and those experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Throughout my career, I’ve managed numerous safeguarding cases, many involving critical and high-risk situations. These experiences, along with my professional training and in-depth knowledge of safeguarding practices, equip me well to take on this vital role at the club. In recent years, my work has expanded to include project and change management, with a focus on digital transformation, business strategy, and continuous improvement. I’m passionate about helping people thrive and believe in maintaining high standards, forward thinking, and creating environments where everyone can succeed. Outside of work, I love playing netball socially and I’m a big fan of Manchester Thunder and the Netball Super League—catching games whenever I can. My daughter joined Ribble Valley Netball Club in September 2024 and has thrived in the club’s positive, inclusive environment. From the beginning, we’ve felt welcomed and valued as part of the RVNC family. I’m proud to now serve on the Committee, supporting our players, coaches and families to ensure a safe, supportive environment for everyone involved.
